Fresh Trouble For Malami as DSS Launches Probe Following Arms Discovery at Kebbi Residence
Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami [SAN] is once again under the spotlight as Nigeria’s Department of State Services [DSS] opens a fresh investigation into his activities. This development comes after Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] reportedly uncovered a cache of arms at a property linked to him in kebbi state.
Sources close to the security agencies revealed that the EFCC, acting on intelligence, conducted a raid on the Kebbi residence where firearms were found. The discovery has raised serious questions about the former minister’s dealings and the nature of activities at the residence.
In response, the DSS has now taken over parts of the investigation to detrmine any potential threats to national security and possible violations of the law regarding unauthorized possesions of arms.
While Malami is yet to issue an official statement, the situation is generating widespread reactions across political and media circles. Many are calling for a thorough, unbiased investigation and urging authorities to pursue justice without political interference.
This latest probe adds to the growing list of controversies surrounding the former minister, raising fresh concerns over accountability and transparency in high ranking government position.
